Admission and Scholarship

Admission for Bachelor’s Program in Engineering under TU, normally opens in the beginning of August. Students willing to join KEC must pass the entrance examination conducted by Institute of Engineering. IOE conducts entrance test in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English and Drawing. Students with I.Sc. (Physical group or Biological group with Extra Maths) or 10+2 in Science (Physical group or Biological group with Extra Maths) or Diploma in Engineering and scoring at least 45% in respective examinations are eligible to apply for the entrance test conducted by Institute of Engineering (IOE), Pulchowk.

KEC selects students according to the merit list in entrance test.

International students do not have to appear in entrance tests. Special entrance committee selects them for admission.

Scholarship

Kantipur Engineering College has provided several scholarships for studious, diligent and competitive students with the aim to encourage them in their study and betterment of their career. Hence some ethics and code of conducts are prepared for selection of deserving students to provide with scholarship since 2062/10/02 B.S. are as follows:

Four year scholarship

In this scholarship scheme, all monthly and semester fee taken by K.E.C. are exempted. Students receiving this scholarship need to pay only the exam fee as determined by I.O.E. for the regular students. This scholarship will be provided for entire four years

Semester scholarship

In this scholarship scheme, monthly or semester fee taken by K.E.C. will be exempted. Students receiving this scholarship need to pay admission fee and exam fee conducted by I.O.E. for the regular students. This scholarship will be provided for one semester only.

VDC student scholarship scheme

This scholarship scheme is for children of families living permanently in Dhapakhel V.D.C., Lalitpur in certain seat as determined by the college. Candidates must pass the entrance examination conducted by I.O.E.. In this scholarship, only the academic monthly fee will be exempted throughout the four years period.

Scholarship under special package

With view to upgrade the current programs or any other relevant reasons the college can provide the student with special scholarship package. This scholarship will be provided as per the decision of the college management committee and for the specific time frame determined by the committee.
